Privacy policy

Clear, transparent, and dedicated to protecting what matters most your data

Effective Date: January 22, 2026
Last Updated: January 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes the manner in which Teela, LLC ("Teela,""we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects Personal Information in connection with ourSoftware-as-a-Service ("Services") and our public-facing websites, online properties, and marketing activities (collectively, the"Sites"). Our Services leverage artificial intelligence to translate natural-language inputs into SQL for the purpose of querying client databases.By accessing or using the Sites or Services, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Scope; Roles; Definitions

1.1 Scope. This Policy applies to all Personal Information collected from individuals who access or use the Sites or Services, including but not limited to registered users, administrative personnel, and authorized representatives of client organizations.

1.2 Roles Under Applicable Law. Depending on the nature of the processing activity, Teela may function as a (a) "Business" or"Controller" with respect to Personal Information collected directly from users via the Sites and during registration and account management; and(b) "Service Provider" or "Processor" with respect to information processed on behalf of our clients when the Services interface with, access, or query a client's database environment. Teela processes client database information solely in accordance with contractual obligations and client instructions.

1.3 Definitions. "Personal Information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with an identified or identifiable natural person, as defined by applicable privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly. Identifiers and contact information (e.g., first and last name, email address, company/employer information), account credentials, and communications you send to us (including support inquiries).

2.2 Database Metadata. DataExtraction and Intelligent Processing Upon connection to a client database,Teela automatically extracts and processes schema-level metadata (such as DDL structures, table names, and field descriptions). To enable high-accuracy, natural-language querying, we also store specific, limited data elements (e.g.,product names or category identifiers) from your database, but you are able to opt out of this if desired.

2.3 Vector Storage & Security. This information is converted into numerical embeddings and stored in a secure, isolated vector database. This process allows our AI to understand the context of your data without manual mapping.

  1. No External Access: This data is never shared with third parties, is not accessible to the public, and cannot be accessed by other Teela clients.
  2. Access Control: Data stored in our vector database is accessible only through the Teela software interface by authorized users within your organization.
  3. Internal R&D: We may use de-identified or aggregated versions of this metadata internally to improve our machine learning models and system performance, as permitted by law.

2.4 Query-Specific Data (Ephemeral). During execution of a query, the Services may temporarily access certain data elements required to generate the corresponding result set. This information is processed in an ephemeral, non-persistent manner and is not stored or retained after the query completes.

2.5 Information Collected Automatically via the Sites. As you navigate the Sites, we may collect device and usage information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, referring/exit pages, and timestamps. We may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to collect this information for analytics, personalization, and to improve the Sites.

2.6 Marketing Preferences and Communications. If you subscribe to updates or marketing communications, we collect your contact details and preferences. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us as described in Section 16.

2.7 Job Applicants. If you apply for a role with Teela, we may collect information such as your resume/CV, cover letter, employment history, education, LinkedIn profile, portfolio links, work authorization status, preferred start date, and compensation expectations.

3. Technical Safeguards and Data Handling

3.1 Read-Only System Architecture. Teela’s integration with client databases is engineered to operate under a strictly read-only permission model. The Services do not, and from a technical standpoint cannot, modify, update, alter, or delete client data or database structures.

3.2 Client Controls Over Data Visibility. Clients may limit the AI’s visibility into specific tables, fields, or data categories by removing or restricting the corresponding DDL information within our vector database (e.g., to exclude sensitive or regulated information).

3.3 Use of Third-Party AI Services. Teela utilizes Microsoft Azure OpenAI for natural-language processing. Data transmitted to Azure is processed solely to deliver the Services and is not used by Microsoft to train models for unrelated purposes. Sub-processors and infrastructure providers are bound by contractual and security obligations.
